Dear Lorenzo Smith School Families and Community, 
 
It is with great joy and anticipation that I welcome you to another school year at Pembroke School District #259. At Lorenzo Smith School, we believe that education is the cornerstone of our community’s future, and together, we are building the foundation for a brighter tomorrow in Pembroke Township. 
 
The success of our children depends not only on the instruction they receive in the classroom but also on the strength of the partnership between our schools, families, and community. When we work together—educators, parents, and community members—we create the support, encouragement, and opportunities our children need to thrive. 
 
This year, we are proud to share that each student will have an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) designed to support their unique growth and development. A key focus of these plans will be vocabulary development, which is a vital skill for academic success and lifelong learning. By strengthening vocabulary and communication skills, we are preparing our students with the tools they need to access new opportunities and build a brighter future. 
 
As we begin this new year, our goal remains clear: to provide each student with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to reach their fullest potential. By investing in the education of our children today, we are shaping the leaders, problem-solvers, and change-makers of tomorrow. 
 
I encourage every family to stay engaged—whether by attending school events, supporting learning at home, or collaborating with teachers and staff. Your voice, your presence, and your partnership make a powerful difference in the lives of our students.
