Help Shape Our Schools: Illinois 5Essentials Survey

Pembroke Community Consolidated School District 259 will participate in the 11th annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey, administered by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in partnership with UChicago Impact.

This survey gives students, teachers, and families a chance to share honest feedback about school climate and learning conditionsβ€”feedback that directly supports school improvement.

Why the 5Essentials Survey Matters

The survey focuses on five research-based areas proven to impact student success:

  • Effective Leaders

  • Collaborative Teachers

  • Involved Families

  • Supportive Environment

  • Ambitious Instruction

Research from the University of Chicago, covering more than 400 schools, shows that schools strong in at least three of the five essentials are far more likely to improve student achievement in reading and math.

Your voice helps identify strengths, highlight needs, and guide future decisions.

Required Annual Survey

Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), all Illinois districts must administer a school learning conditions survey each year.
Pembroke CCSD 259 has consistently participated and will continue during the 2025–2026 school year.
