On Monday, January 23, 2023 History was made in the gymnasium at Lorenzo R. Smith School in Pembroke Township. The ā€œPromise of Pembrokeā€ was made to Hopkins Park and we will soon have access to natural gas in our homes and businesses for the first time. Thanks to the initiatives of NICOR and its partners, Lorenzo Smith School was awarded $10,000 to enhance our media center and Greenhouse. Members of the ā€œMustang Pressā€ was on hand to capture the moments. Willow Nichols (4th grade), Samantha Payton (6th grade), and Faith Harrison (6th grade) did an outstanding job taking photographs and interviewing elected officials.

In addition, members of the BETA Club and Student Council assisted by greeting over 100 visitors for the event.
